May 28th
It’s about 30 degrees in Espoo. Here in Britain, it’s windy, rainy, and sunny—all kinds of weather. The temperature is around 18 degrees +/- 5 degrees.
After a morning shower and breakfast, we headed towards the city of York. We found a Ford repair shop on the outskirts, and they have an appointment for us on May 31. Hopefully, it will be the last one of this trip. I’m very interested in finding out the reason for these issues. Do we have a bad tire, or is there something else causing these noises while driving? We’ll be wiser in a couple of days.
There’s a polling station open in Manchester on June 1. We aim to get there with our repaired Tellu to cast our votes in the EU election early here. I’ve never voted in England before!
Eva found us a place to stay overnight in the yard of The Arkwright Arms pub, near a village called Duckmanton. We went to the pub to ask about staying overnight. In Internet, it said you could stay in the yard if you eat at the pub. So, we asked about food. They informed us that Mondays and Tuesdays are for drinking only, no food. So, we ordered some “soup”: half pints of beer serve well as a meal. After the beers, we returned to Tellu, and Eva heated up the other half of yesterday’s dinner—excellent chicken tandoori. We even had some salad.
We took a short evening walk. It was short because rain clouds started gathering in the sky. We returned to the car to write the blog, and soon we’ll update it with a cold beer at the pub. Cheers to everyone!
