June 20th
A day off from vacation.
So, I’m at Jette’s doing nothing! Well, not exactly nothing! In the morning, we had a Zoom meeting at 9 AM. An education student from the United States wanted to interview us. We even managed to get Nossim from Tanzania to join for the latter part. These are truly remarkable times. If someone had told me in the 1970s that I’d be sitting in the UK with a laptop, talking about a Finnish organization’s affairs via video call simultaneously to Finland and Africa, I would have suggested they check their medication! The meeting was held, and we managed to spread the good news a bit further.
Breakfast was enjoyed in good company, relishing fresh berries, muesli, and yogurt. The day’s tasks included taking care of a foot wound, relaxing, and preparing lunch. Then the European Championship games started, and I found myself glued to the TV. I hadn’t seen any of the games yet, so it was about time. For detailed reports on today’s games, you can check other media. I’ll just note that based on today’s performance, Spain has definitely declared itself a strong contender for the championship.
It was also nice to have a video call and wish some of the family a happy Midsummer face-to-face through the screen.
Wishing everyone a wonderful time, from sausages to fishing rods, for Midsummer celebrations. Stay on land if you are enjoying alcohol.
