Fußach – St Gallen – Basel – Saint-Louis

May 20th

No sweet stuff on a full stomach! As the saying goes. It means things are really going well! To balance out our travels, we’ve had the chance to stay put, enjoy long mornings and breakfasts, and the delightful atmosphere with Christopher, Ulli, and River.

With warm hugs, we said goodbye to them in Fußach and drove to St. Gallen to visit Eva’s cousin Merja, her partner Kari, and Christian. We had lunch and chatted about all sorts of things. There were four teachers and one gallery owner; we even talked a bit about school life!

Jero was waiting for us in Basel, so we headed there after the pleasant lunch meeting. We arrived a bit behind schedule. We dined along the Rhine and asked Jero about his experiences in Basel’s music scene. He seems to be doing well and is in good spirits! We checked out Jero’s shared apartment and left him waving goodbye on the Rhine’s riverside promenade. It’s always nice to meet nice people.

Now we’re settling in for the night on the French side, and tomorrow we’ll try to get back to Velleron. Wishing everyone a good night.
