What a wonderful studio … I mean Chris’s studio up there, 400 meters higher on the mountainside. We headed there after a delightful and leisurely breakfast. Before we left, we listened to some recordings made at Chris’s studio. Great recordings of talented musicians’ performances.
We drove to the studio along beautiful, small mountain roads, admiring the valley below and the snow-capped peaks on the Swiss side. After a half-hour drive, we arrived. We last visited over ten years ago. The place had been refurbished, and I’m not at all surprised that musicians want to come there to work together. I could come myself!
We took a short walk up the hillside, where we saw blueberries and raspberries waiting to bloom. We found the descent easier than the ascent.
From the studio, we drove down to a charming little town in the valley and to a guesthouse where the staff had prepared a five-course dinner for the guests. We enjoyed an Austrian-Italian dinner with local beer. Excellent – absolutely excellent! Thanks to our hosts for an unforgettable day.
